~ 23 ~ And the inhabitants of Midian. And Moses too was accused of falsehood. But I gave respite to the disbelievers; then I seized them, and how terrible were the consequences of denying Me! 22:45 advanced and prosperous nation, ' Do you build monuments on every high place, seek- ing vain glory? 26:129 ' And do you erect palaces as if you will live forever? 26:130 asked to seek forgiveness, pray for rain, ' And O my people, ask for- giveness of your Lord, then turn to Him, He will send over you clouds pouring down abundant rain, and will add strength to your strength. And turn not away f rom Him, being sinners. ' 11:53 destruction evident from their dwellings, And We destroyed ‘ A d and Tham u d; and it is evident to you from their dwelling places…. 29:39 destroyed for denial of signs, arrogance, But if they turn away, then say, 'I warn you of a de- structive punishment like the punishment which over- took ‘Ad and Tham u d. ' 41:14 destroyed for rejecting truth, The tribe of ‘ A d rejected the Truth. How terrible, then, was My punishment and how true My warning! 54:19
