29 December 1905 327 Moreover, there is a subtle point to note concerning him that increases his magnificence all the more, and that is that he came at such a time when: 1 َرَهَظ ُداَسَفْلا يِف ِّرَبْلا َو ِرْحَبْلا َرَهَظ ُداَسَفْلا يِف ِّرَبْلا َو ِرْحَبْلا That is, the People of the Book had become corrupt, as well as those without a Book. And this is also proven by the confir- mation of the opponents. Pandit Dayanand says that idol wor- ship was prevalent in the country of the Aryas, and darkness had also spread in Arabia. The distinctive feature remaining of the Christian faith was that a humble man had been made God. Therefore, wherever you looked, there was darkness, and a complete disregard and heedlessness of God Almighty. Furthermore, that age was crying out, exclaiming the need for a magnificent Mu s le h [Reformer], and it is an acknowledged fact that necessity is the mother of sciences. All knowledge has come into being due to necessity. Medicine, physics, astronomy, geography, etc. —necessity is the mother of all sciences. So, if you are wise, understand that the mother of this subtle secret 2 is also some magnificent need. Many Companions ra believed in him, seeing that he had come at a time of great need. If he had not come, maybe a flood like that of Noah would have come and destroyed the world. I cer- tainly know, and I affirm that there is such a bright and clear set of needs for him to come that its parallel does not exist for anyone else, and nothing [by way of need] is visible for Jesus.
