Malf uza t - English translation of Urdu Volume 8 230 powers. And this is not attainable to any religion except Islam. If it is, then someone should prove it. Apart from this, Islam also has the beauty that it adds to and perfects those good deeds which a person may do naturally. That is indeed why God said, ۠ ۠ ىًدُه َنْيِقَّتُمْلِّل ىًدُه َنْيِقَّتُمْلِّل [ hudal-lil muttaq i n —a guid - ance for the righteous]—and did not say َ ھُدًی لِّلظَّالِمِیْن َ ھُدًی لِّلظَّالِمِیْن [ hudal-liz- z a lim i n —a guidance for the unjust] or َنْيِرِفٰكْلِل [ lil-k a fir i n —for the disbelievers]. A long time ago, a Brahmu named Agnihotri said that we also say هّٰللُّٰ ا هّٰللُّٰ ا اْلَّ ِ ا اْلَّ ِ ا َ اِلٰه َ اِلٰه َۤ اْل َۤ اْل [ L a il a ha illall a hu —There is no one worthy of worship except Allah]. Why do you say ُ سُوْل َّ ر ُ سُوْل َّ ر ٌ د َّ مُحَم ٌ د َّ مُحَم هّٰللِّٰ ا هّٰللِّٰ ا [ Mu h ammad-ur-Ras u lull a h —Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah]? I had replied that its benefit is preventing man from becoming an atheist. Consequently, he is now an open athe- ist. Had he had complete faith in Muhammad, the Messenger of Allah, may peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, why would he have become an atheist? Verily I say that the Holy Quran is such a perfect and com- prehensive Book that no book can compete with it. Is there any such sruti [sacred text] in the Vedas that can compete with ىًدُه َنْيِقَّتُمْلِّلَ۠نْيِقَّتُمْلِّل۠ىًدُه ? If a verbal confession is anything of value—that is, its fruits or results are unnecessary—then the entire world still acknowledges God Almighty in one form or another, and con- siders devotion, worship, charity, and alms to be good, and even acts upon them in one way or another. So what did the Vedas come to give the world? Either prove that the nations who do not believe in the Vedas are entirely devoid of virtues or state some distinguishing signs. From the very start in the Holy Quran, the advancements that the soul inherently demands are promised. Accordingly, in S u rah al-F a ti h ah :
