26 December 1905 217 convenience and optimal arrangement of the commentary, I first set forth that part together and then give its translation, followed by the commentary (Editor): ِمْسِب ِهّٰللا ِنٰمْحَّرلا ِمْيِحَّرلا۰۰ َنْيِذَّلا َنْوُنِمْؤُي ِبْيَغْلاِب َو َنْوُمْيِقُي َةوٰلَّصلا َو اَّمِم ِمْسِب ِهّٰللا ِنٰمْحَّرلا ِمْيِحَّرلا۰۰ َنْيِذَّلا َنْوُنِمْؤُي ِبْيَغْلاِب َو َنْوُمْيِقُي َةوٰلَّصلا َو اَّمِم ّٓمٓلا۰۰ َكِلٰذ ُبٰتِكْلا اَل َبْيَر١ۛۖۚ ِهْيِف١ۛۚ ىًدُه َنْيِقَّتُمْلِّل۰۰ۙ۠ ّٓمٓلا۰۰ َكِلٰذ ُبٰتِكْلا اَل َبْيَر١ۛۖۚ ِهْيِف١ۛۚ ىًدُه َنْيِقَّتُمْلِّل۰۰ۙ۠ َو َنْيِذَّلا َنْوُنِمْؤُي ۤاَمِب َلِزْنُا َكْيَلِا َو ۤاَم َلِزْنُا ْنِم َكِلْبَق١ۚ َو ِةَرِخٰاْلاِب ْمُه َنْوُنِقْوُي۰۰ؕ ْمُهٰنْقَزَر َنْوُقِفْنُي۰۰ۙ َو َنْيِذَّلا َنْوُنِمْؤُي ۤاَمِب َلِزْنُا َكْيَلِا َو ۤاَم َلِزْنُا ْنِم َكِلْبَق١ۚ َو ِةَرِخٰاْلاِب ْمُه َنْوُنِقْوُي۰۰ؕ ْمُهٰنْقَزَر َنْوُقِفْنُي۰۰ۙ 1 َكِٕىٰٓلوُا ىٰلَع ىًدُه ْنِّم ْمِهِّبَّر١ۗ َو َكِٕىٰٓلوُا ُمُه َنْوُحِلْفُمْلا۰۰ َكِٕىٰٓلوُا ىٰلَع ىًدُه ْنِّم ْمِهِّبَّر١ۗ َو َكِٕىٰٓلوُا ُمُه َنْوُحِلْفُمْلا۰۰ Translation: [In the name of Allah, the Gracious, the Merciful. ] I am Allah, the All-Knowing. This Book, in which there is no doubt or suspicion, is a guidance for the muttaq i (who are the muttaq i ? ) who believe in the unseen and establish Prayer and spend out of whatsoever they have been given. And the muttaq i are those who believe in the revelation that has been revealed upon you and in the revelation that was revealed before you and also believe in the Hereafter. These are indeed the people who are guided by their Lord, and it is they who will prosper. Commentary 2 َكِلٰذ ُبٰتِكْلا اَل َبْيَر١ۛۖۚ ِهْيِف١ۛۚ ىًدُه َنْيِقَّتُمْلِّل۰۰۠ ّٓمٓلا۰۰ َكِلٰذ ُبٰتِكْلا اَل َبْيَر١ۛۖۚ ِهْيِف١ۛۚ ىًدُه َنْيِقَّتُمْلِّل۰۰۠ ّٓمٓلا۰۰ I am Allah, the All-Knowing. This Book, which is free from doubt and suspicion and is free from every defect and deficiency, has been sent for the guidance of the muttaq i [righteous]. 1. S u rah al-Baqarah, 2:1–6 [Publisher] 2.
