25 February 1907 159 ْ ِّرُوْا مَا بِاَنْفُسِهِم ی َ ُغ ی ی ّٰ ِّر ُ مَا بِقَوْم ٍ حَت ی ُغَ ی هّٰللَّٰ اَلَ َّ ا اِن ْ ِّرُوْا مَا بِاَنْفُسِهِم ی َ ُغ ی ی ّٰ ِّر ُ مَا بِقَوْم ٍ حَت ی ُغَ ی هّٰللَّٰ اَلَ َّ ا اِن Surely, Allah changes not the condition of a people until they change that which is in their hearts. that so long as people do not turn to the truth, this disease will not go away. Look! This year everyone had agreed that this country had rid itself of the plague to a great extent and soon would be completely free from it, but this year had a more vio- lent outbreak than previous years; such an outbreak that many households have been devastated by it. Some villages have become entirely desolate. Everything that is mentioned in the Glorious Quran: 1 َو ْنِا ْنِّم ٍةَيْرَق اَّلِا ُنْحَن اَهْوُكِلْهُم َلْبَق ِمْوَي ِةَمٰيِقْلا ْوَا اَهْوُبِّذَعُم اًباَذَع اًدْيِدَش َو ْنِا ْنِّم ٍةَيْرَق اَّلِا ُنْحَن اَهْوُكِلْهُم َلْبَق ِمْوَي ِةَمٰيِقْلا ْوَا اَهْوُبِّذَعُم اًباَذَع اًدْيِدَش is coming to pass. I received a revelation about Qadian: ُ الْمُقَام ُ َلَهَلَك َ الْمُقَام ِْکْرَام ُ لَهَلَك اَل ْاَلَ ا ُ لَو ِْکْرَام اَل ْاَلَ ا لَو meaning that this village was also deserving of destruction, but it has been safeguarded out of regard [for you], in reference to which it is said: 2 َ َة ی ْ اِنَ٘ہ ٗ اٰوَى الْقَر َ َة ی ْ اِنَ٘ہ ٗ اٰوَى الْقَر The meaning of a wa recorded in all lexicons is precisely to give shelter following some calamity. Those very meanings have also been applied in the Glorious Quran: 1. There is not a township but We shall destroy it before the Day of Resurrection, or punish it with a severe punishment ( S u rah Ban i Isr a ’ i l, 17:59). [Publisher] 2.
