With Love to Muhammad (sa) - The Khatam-un-Nabiyyin — Page 68
68 With Love to Muhammad sa the Kh ā tam-un-Nabiyy ī n chapter, he presented the following verse of the Holy Qur’ ā n which categorically states that it is the last book: ُُ ﻟَمك ُ وَرَﺿِﻴْﺖ ِْ ﻧِﻌْﻤَىت ُْ ﻋَﻠَﻴْمك ُ وَاَﺗْﻤَﻤْﺖ ُْ دِﻳْﻨَمك ُْ ﻟَـمك ُ اَمكَْﻠْﺖ َ اَﻟْﻴَﻮْم دِﻳْﻨًﺎ َ اﻻِْﺳْﻼَم ؕ This day have I perfected your religion for you and completed My favour upon you and have chosen for you Isl ā m as religion. 53 According to the above verse, since the religion of Isl ā m has been perfected by God, it is the last religion and the Qur’ ā n is the last book or last law for the guidance of mankind. No new religion and no new law can come after it. The same argumentation applies to anything inseparably associated with the Qur’ ā n, that is, the prophet who not only brought that law, but perfectly exemplified its teachings, becomes the last law- bearing prophet. Farhan Khan’s second point in relation to S ū rah An- Nis ā ’, 4:70, is discussed thoroughly in the chapter entitled, Continuation of prophethood according to the Holy Qur’ ā n. His third point is an absurd and senseless argument explained by him as follows: The Ahmadi approach is to begin with the belief that Muhammad is only the last law-bearing Prophet and then re-interpret the text to their pre-conceived theology. Had All ā h meant last law-bearing Prophet instead of last Prophet, the Qur’ ā n would have clearly said kh ā tam Al-Nabiy ī n Al-tashri’ ī , meaning last law- 53 S ū rah Al-M ā ’idah 5:4
