114 With Love to Muhammad sa the Kh ā tam-un-Nabiyy ī n based entirely on the context of the statement and the situation at hand. Second, in his desperation, Farhan Khan not only disagrees with a great mujaddid but tries to distort facts. He writes, “‘Al ī ra was exactly like H ā r ū n as in that they were both guardians over their people in the absence of the ‘master’ Prophet, except, unlike H ā r ū n as who later became a Prophet , there were no prophets after Muhammad sa , so ‘Al ī ra was not destined to become a Prophet. ” 104 While we cannot know for sure if Farhan Khan did this on purpose but it can definitely cause some readers to think that Hazrat H ā r ū n as was made a prophet after the incident of Hazrat M ū s ā ’s as absence from his people for 40 nights. The fact of the matter is that Hazrat H ā r ū n as was a companion prophet to his brother from the very start of his mission before they even confronted Pharaoh. In the very first meeting between All ā h, the Exalted, and Hazrat M ū s ā as , he had asked Him for a helper as shown by the following verses: ِۙ اَﻫْىل ْ ﻣِّﻦ وَزِﻳْﺮًا ِّْ ىل وَاﺟْﻌَﻞ ِۙ اَىخ َ ﻫٰﺮُوْن ۙ اَزْرِى ٖۤ ﺑِﻪ ْ اﺷْﺪُد ۙ اَﻣْﺮِى ِْۤ ىف ُ وَاَرشِْﻛْﻪ And grant me a helper from my family — Aaron, my brother; Increase my strength with him and make him share my task. 105 The words share my task , clearly indicate that Hazrat M ū s ā as wanted him to become a prophet like him.
