84 With Love to Muhammad sa the Kh ā tam-un-Nabiyy ī n ٍَ ﻟِﺒَرش َ اكَن وَﻣَﺎ ُّٰ اهلل ُ ﻳُّلكَِّﻤَﻪ ْ اَن ْ اَو ٍ ﺣِﺠَﺎب ِ وَّرَآىٴ ْ ﻣِﻦ ْ اَو وَﺣْﻴًﺎ َّ اِﻻ ُ ﻳَﺸَﺎٓء ﻣَﺎ ٖ ابِِذْﻧِﻪ َِ ﻓَﻴُﻮْىح ً رَﺳُﻮْﻻ َ ﻳُﺮْﺳِﻞ ؕ ٌْ ﺣَﻜِمي ٌِّ ﻋَىل ٗ اِﻧَّﻪ And it is not for a man that All ā h should speak to him except by revelation or from behind a veil or by sending a messenger to reveal by His command what He pleases. Surely, He is High, Wise. 74 It is crystal clear from the above verse that All ā h, the Exalted, ‘speaks’ ( ُ ﻳُّلكَِّﻤَﻪ ) with His prophets in three ways: 1. By direct revelation ( وَﺣْﻴًﺎ ) 2. From behind a veil ( ٍ ﺣِﺠَﺎب ِ وَّرَآىٴ ْ ﻣِﻦ ) 3. By sending a messenger ( ً رَﺳُﻮْﻻ َ ﻳُﺮْﺳِﻞ ) As a result, Farhan Khan’s distinction between speech for some prophets and revelation for others is rendered invalid by this verse. Revelation is simply one of the three forms of communication or speech between All ā h and man. Then, in his rebuttal, he attributes a false belief to the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jam ā ‘at by writing, “[Ahmad ī Muslims believe that] direct speech is not a valid medium of communication between All ā h and his prophets. . . ” This is absolutely untrue and like many others, just another false allegation against the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jam ā ‘at! Direct speech is indicated by the word وَﺣْﻴًﺎ (Direct Revelation) in 42:52! The fact of the matter is that no matter how hard Farhan Khan tries, there is no denying that some prophets were given laws while others were not. The following verse makes it very clear that Prophet Moses as brought a law, that is, the Torah, and 74 S ū rah As-Sh ū r ā , 42:52
