BIRTH OF FA D L-E-UMAR ra as 196 Mahm u d, and his birth was made known the same day by means of a leaflet. It was also written therein that he had not yet been informed as to whether this boy was the one who was to be the Promised Reformer. Later on, however, Ahmad as definitely declared in his books, Sir a j-e-Mun i r (p. 31), Tiry a qul Qul u b (1902, pages 40, 42), H aq i qatul Wa hi (p. 260) and Nuz u lul Mas ih (p. 192), that he was the same son. Under Divine instruction the son himself has now claimed that he is the Promised one. He was born in exact fulfilment of the prophecy of his birth. In the leaflet issued on March 22nd, 1886, it was foretold that he would be born within a period of nine years; and in accordance with it he was born within this period i. e. , on January 12th, 1889. His name was also foretold. He was a sickly child. His eye-sight was weak. Therefore he could not learn much at school. He could not pass even the matriculation examination. He took Bai‘at at the hands of his father on 3-10- 1898 and later read the Holy Quran and some Hadith with Maulaw i N u r-ud-D i n ra. Subsequent events show that he is beyond the shadow of doubt the Promised illustrious son. Much greatness, grandeur and wealth belong to him. He is curing many diseases through his Messianic power. He visited Palestine and Damascus in 1924 and the people spoke to him there as their ancestors had addressed Jusus as. The spirit of truth and holiness is with him.
