58 Letter to a Dear One most restless at the situation. The man replied, “O Prophet of God, I was hit on bare skin, whereas your body is covered. ” The Holy Prophet ( ” allall ā hu ‘alaihi wa sallam) lifted his attire and offered his blessed body to be hit. The man rushed forward and kissed the Holy Prophet ( ” allall ā hu ‘alaihi wa sallam) on his bare skin and said, “O Prophet Of God, this is all I wanted; to be able to kiss your body on this pretext. ” In short, the details of the Holy Prophet’s ( ” allall ā hu ‘alaihi wa sallam) virtues are never-ending. He was a perfect model in all spheres of life. Fid ā hu ab ī wa umm ī [may my father and mother be his sacrifice]. May 23 The Divine Mission of the Promised Messiah The followers of Muhammad ( ” allall ā hu ‘alaihi wa sallam) are extremely fortunate in that they have had a perfect guidance in the Holy Qur’ ā n and a perfect guide in the Holy Prophet ( ” allall ā hu ‘alaihi wa sallam). Alas! Majority of Muslims have put the Qur’ ā n aside and have forgotten the excellent model of the Holy Prophet ( ” allall ā hu ‘alaihi wa sallam). They are busy pursuing the pros and cons of reasoning, and are entangled in superstitions and customs. In short, as the Holy Prophet ( ” allall ā hu ‘alaihi wa sallam) had predicted, a time did come when the Qur’ ā n was reduced to mere phraseology and Islam remained but in name. It is at this time that Allah’s Mercy took effect, and as per His promise, a true and devoted servant of the Holy Prophet ( ” allall ā hu ‘alaihi wa sallam) was sent to revive Islam. He was sent to erase all the ungraceful marks from the beauty of Islam; marks that had appeared through the ignorance of the Muslims, in the shape of wrong beliefs and innovations. He was sent to once again set forth the spring of the correct knowledge of the Qur’ ā n, so that the world could saturate itself on this spiritual elixir—to establish a model of the Islamic way of life through his own life. The Muslims of this age present the excuse that the ways of the world have changed so much that the Islamic way of life cannot be established in it’s true form. Allah the Almighty sent the Promised Messiah (‘alaihissal ā m) in this age to lay a new foundation for the progress of Islam; to display Islam in its glory once again.
