L ECTURE S IALKOT 59 Upon rational consideration, you will find human rea- son crying that the Muslims in this age are in need of a Heavenly Reformer. Their condition is dreadful both internally and externally and they seem to be standing on the brink of a deep abyss, or about to be hit by a fierce storm. Looking into past prophecies, you will find that Prophet Daniel as too prophesied about me and about the time of my coming. The Holy Prophet sa also foretold that the Promised Messiah would be born in this very umma. Anyone who does not know this should study S a hih Bukh ari and S a hih Muslim where he will find the prophecy that a Mu- jaddid [Reformer] would appear at the turn of each century. If one seeks evidence of Divine succour in my support, then let it be remembered that thousands of signs have already appeared for me. Apart from these, there was also this prophecy which was re- corded in Br a h i n-e-Ahmadiyya some twenty-four years ago, when no one had yet pledged allegiance at my hand and no one travelled to see me. The proph- ecy was: Meaning, the time is fast coming when financial assis- tance shall reach you from all sides and thousands of people shall come to visit you. Again, He says:
