200 KHILAFAT-E-R A SHIDAH M u sa as (Moses), the Promised Messiah as would come in Ummat-e-Muhammadiyyah after thirteen hundred years. It is not the case that because Hadrat M u sa as (Moses) was for a specific period and for a particular nation, the Prophethood of the Holy Prophet sa is also for specific period and for a particular nation. So if there is a resemblance of Khulaf a ’-e-R a shid i n in some matters with the Khilafat of the previous Khulaf a ’ then we’ll have to admit their resemblances. It is not necessary that they should have resemblance in every matter. The real point is that just as some individuals were raised to rejuvenate the people after the death of earlier Prophets, similarly, after the death of the Holy Prophet sa , Allah, the Almighty would raise such personalities to rejuvenate his ummah, and this objective was comparatively better achieved by the Khulaf a ’ of the Holy Prophet sa than the previous Khulaf a ’. No doubt, the successors to Hadrat M u sa as (Moses) were Prophets, as were the successors to Hadrat Ibr a h i m as (Abraham), as well as other Prophets as ; but can anyone say that the establishment of faith that was achieved through these Prophets was not achieved by the Khulaf a ’ of the Holy Prophet sa. If we analyze the circumstances with wisdom and insight we will have to say that Joshua as , Ism a ’ i l as (Ishmael), I sha q as (Issac) and Ya‘q u b as (Jacob as ) could not do for the establishment of their religion, what was done by Abu Bakr ra , Umar ra , Usman ra and Ali ra.
