69 GLOSSARY Convention held by the Ah- madiyya Community. Jama'at— Community of believ- ers. Although the word Jama’at may be used for any commu- nity, in this book Jama’at means the Worldwide Ahmadiyya Muslim Community. Jami‘ah Ahmadiyya— An In- ternational Islamic seminary and educational institute with campuses in Pakistan, United Kingdom, India, Ghana, Can- ada, Germany, Nigeria, Indo- nesia, Bangladesh, Malaysia, Tanzania, etc. Founded by the Promised Messiah as , it is the main centre of the Ahmadi- yya Muslim Community for Is- lamic learning and missionary training. Khalifah— Means ‘Successor’. A Khalifah is the successor of a Prophet and leads the com- munity after the demise of the Prophet. The Holy Prophet Muhammad s as had four Suc- cessors/ Khulafa. Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad as , the Prom- ised Messiah, has had five Suc- cessors thus far. The Fifth Suc- cessor is Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad aba. Khalifatul-Masih— The Succes- sor to the Promised Messiah as. Currently, the Khalifah of the time is Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad aba. Kheer— A traditional dessert of the Indian subcontinent made with crushed rice boiled in milk and sugar. Khuddamul-Ahmadiyya— Lit- erally means ‘the Servants of Ahmadiyyat’, is one of the five auxiliary organizations within the Ahmadiyya Muslim Com- munity. It is the young men’s branch of the Community, particularly for those between the ages of 15 and 40.
