Some of these are here set out: “Our Lord, grant us Thy joyful bounties in this world as well as Thy joyful bounties in the life to come, and protect us from the torment of the fire” (2:202). “My Lord grant me that I may be duly grateful to Thee for Thy favours which Thou hast bestowed upon me and upon my parents, and that I may act righteously so as to please Thee, and make my progeny righteous also. I do turn to Thee; and, truly, I am of those who submit themselves to Thee” (46:16). On boarding a vessel: “In the name of Allah be its course and its mooring. On entering a building for any legitimate purpose whatever, slight or serious: “O my Lord, make my entry an entry of truth and then make my coming forth a coming forth with truth, and grant me from Thyself a helping power” (17:81).
