The Quran says:"Those who hoard up gold and silver and spend it not in the way prescribed by Allah, give to them the tidings of a painful punishment. . They should remember the day when this hoarding shall be made hot in the fire of Hell, and their foreheads and their sides and their backs shall be branded therewith, and it shall be said unto them: "This is what you hoarded for yourselves; so taste ye now what you used to hoard up. (Chap. 9:34, 35. ) "".
