An objection is often raised about the prophecy relating to the Dajj a l. It is said that the Dajj a l was to appear before the Promised Messiah but since the Dajj a l has not yet appeared, the time of the Promised Messiah has also not come. It must be remembered that the prophecy relating to the Dajj a l , like all prophecies, is subject to interpretation. We read in the Holy Quran: 69 َّو َسْمَّشلا َو َرَمَقْلا ْمُهُتْيَاَر ْيِل َنْيِدِجٰس۰۰ ‘I saw in a dream eleven stars and the sun and the moon, I saw them making obeisance to me. ’ 70 ْۤيِّنِا ىٰرَا يِف ِماَنَمْلا ْۤيِّنَا َكُحَبْذَا ‘I have seen in a dream that I am slaughtering you. ’ It is a pity if a person reads these verses and yet waits for the phys - ical manifestation of the Dajj a l.
