121 Buy u tul H amd Scheme As a welcome for the new century of Ahmad i yyat and as gratitude for the blessings of the past century, Hadrat Khalifatul Masih IV rh put forth the Buy u tul H amd scheme before the Jam a ‘at , which was meant to provide free accommodation to one hundred poor families. While announcing this scheme, H u du r said: "Today the economy in Pakistan is in such a state that there are many families who do not have a roof over their heads…It is our duty to help them. We should do whatever little we can and pay attention to providing the homes for these poor people, as an expression of gratitude to Allah Almighty. It is true that (providing homes for the homeless) is such a great task that even the richest governments in the world cannot accomplish it. But I expect, by the grace of Allah, that being the only Jam a ‘at in the world which will do this work purely for His sake, Allah will bless our little money and it will serve to do more than the billions which others spend. As a result, the faith of the poor members of the Jam a ‘at will be strengthened and they will also be come recipients of Divine favours. " Stressing the importance of this scheme, H u du r said: "It was not in my power to keep waiting any more before launching this scheme. All a h put it in my heart so forcefully that I couldn’t help but announce it on this very occasion. Other members of the Jam a ‘at will be allowed to participate in the scheme upon the condition that, first of all, they must maintain the balance. Of course everyone would want to give everything he has, this being my first scheme. This is the nature of a believer. But you must remember that there are many more Schemes to come and you have to keep them in mind as well and should be content with sacrificing whatever Allah enables you to do. You would of course
