119 EXHORTATION TO A H MAD I CHILDREN While inaugurating Daftar Atfal in 1966, Hadrat Khalifatul Masih III rh said: "Today I appeal to all Ahmad i Children (boys and girls) to come forward and fill the gaps which have been left by your elders due to their laxity, and get rid of the weaknesses which have found their way into the work of Waqf-e-Jad i d. " 141 Hadrat Khalifatul Masih IV rh said: "If children are made part of Waqf-e-Jad i d at an early age, Allah increases their ability to offer other Chandas as well. " INSTRUCTIONS 1. The Waqf-e-Jad i d year begins on 1st January and ends on 31st December. 2. Effort should be made so that not a single member of the Jam a ‘at , man, woman, old or young should be left out of this scheme. 3. New Ahmad i s should also be included in this scheme. 4. The head of the family should make sure that no member of his house is left out of the scheme. Chanda should even be paid on behalf of newborns. 5. Those who have just started earning independently should participate in it with greater zeal. 6. Members should try to continue the sacrifices of deceased relatives who used to pay Chanda Waqf-e- Jad i d. 141 Al-Fa d l , October 7, 1966.
