According to the custom of the Arabs, she was married at an early age to her cousin Hadrat Abul-‘ As ra bin Rab i ‘. Hadrat Abul- ‘ As ra was the son of H a llah. H a llah was the sister of Hadrat Khad i jah ra and daughter of Khuwailid. At the occasion of her eldest daughter’s wedding Hadrat Khad i jah ra gave her a beautiful gift, a garnet necklace made in Yemen. This was the finest piece of jewelry Hadrat Khad i jah ra owned and she wanted to give it to her daughter as a part of her dowry.
