5 By explicitly designating the Promised Messiah a s Nabiyyullāh 8 which means "prophet of A llah", the Holy Prophet Muhammad s as actually prophesied the appear ance o f a non - law - bearing and subordinate prophet among his fol lowers, who would be sent to revive Islam. The very concept of a "follower - prophet” or “subordinate prophet” - for which the term Ummatī Nabī is also used - is by its very definition, a prophet whose ministry is not indepen dent, but rather, wholly dependent upon the Holy Prophet Muhammad s as. As a “f ollower - prophet” , t he Promised Messiah w as to be subsequent and subservie nt to his master, the Holy Prophet Muhammad. A “ follower - p rophet ” , as a concept, is in other words, unique ly a Khal ī fatull ā h (vice ger ent of God) a s well as a Khalifatu r - Rasool (vice ger ent of God's Messenger s a s ) , at the same time. A “follower - prophet” is thus, someone who is simultaneously, a disciple and servant of the Holy Prophet Muhammad s as and also someone to whom God speaks. This unique status of the Promised Messiah has been determined by none other than the Holy Prophet Muhammad s as himself. It is obviously, therefore, of little consequence, whether or not, this concept wins the popular acceptance of people. Th is fact remains unchange able that it was the Holy Prophet Muhammad s as himself who decreed that the Awaited Messiah as would be a "follower - prophet", subordinate to the Holy Prophet himself. This great promise of God and of His Messenger s a s , was eventually fu lfilled in 1889. In 1889, Allah commissioned Mirza Ghulam Ahmad as of Qadian as the Mahdī and Messiah, in order to revive the true celestial spirit of Islam, and to spread the true message of the Qur’ān , and
