FINAL ADMONITIONS Hadrat Maulw i Nur-ud-D i n ra — Khalifatul Masih I 250 one in Lahore has obstructed nor can obstruct my Khilafat. Do not think ill of any one. If you have believed, be grateful to God; else seek steadfastness. Despite my illness which makes standing up painful for me, I am taking advantage of this opportunity to impress upon you that Khilafat is not a casual affair to be taken light-heartedly. You can derive no benefit from these contentions. No one will make you Khal i fa , nor can any one else become Khal i fa in my lifetime. When I die only that one will stand forth whom God wills, and God will raise him Himself. You have taken the pledge at my hands, do not fancy yourselves in the role of Khal i fa. God has made me Khal i fa and I cannot be removed at your bidding, nor has any one the power to remove me. If you assert yourselves too much, then remember that I have such Kh a lid bin Wal i d who will punish you as traitors. Hearken! My prayers reach the Throne, and my Lord fulfils my designs even before I supplicate Him. To contend with me is to contend with God. So desist and repent. Hold your peace for a short while; then he who follows after me will deal with you as God wills. Some of the matters on which you differ have been pronounced upon by Hadrat Mirza Sahib as. He who goes against his pronouncement is not an Ahmad i. On matters on which he has expressed no view you are not at liberty to philosophize without my permission. So hold your pens and tongues concerning such matters till the Khal i fa broaches them, or till his Khal i fa appears. Do
