None but a fool bears them enmity and only the righteous and humble accept them; their house is prohibited for the sinful who deliberately hasten towards evil, are content with scum, and remain distant from flowing water. Among their signs is that they take very little from this world, but they receive abundantly from faith. They benefit from worldly blessings as little as an ant’s mouthful, but they partake abundantly from piety. They straighten their selves as a bow maker straightens his arrow and they eradicate all their selfish desires so that only the pleasure of God is left, which is like the strong trunk of a tree, and they hold fast to it. They prefer Him in every way. They pay no heed to the fools’ uproar nor care about them; and regard their [coarse] whip as a smooth plant, and do not fear it. Whatever knowledge they are granted is granted solely on account of love, not owing to any toil on their part. They are made to drink وساوس َ اخلنّاس. وال يعاديهم إال اتفِهٌ، وال يقبَلهم إال تقي ٌّ دافِهٌ. وحُرّم دارهم على الفاسقني الذين يـُزَقْفِلون إىل الشر ّ متعمّدين، ويرضون ابلغَلْفَق وينأَون عن ماء معني. ّم أيخذون من الدنيا كفتيل، ومن الدين يَدْغَفون، هن ومن عالماهتم أ أنفسهم ويقوِّمون جيرتفون. التُّقات ومن آالئها كزِابلٍ، من ويتمتّعون ُيحون كل ما فيهم من أهوائهم، ويبقى هوى جي َ كمُقَمْجِر ٍ يُقوِّم ُ سَهْمه، و َْرة جم َ الرب ِّ كجُذْمُور ٍ وعليها يثبتون. ويؤثرونه يف كل سبيل، وال يبالون ز
