Third Friday Sennon Aug 24, 1990 compromising the principles of Islam and Justice. This is the context of this teaching. At the same time the Holy Quran states that those who do not show enmity towards you, or those who have not done you any injustice, Allah does not stop you from befriending them. Rather Islam teaches you to have kind and cordial relations with them. This is Islam; but the principles of Islam which appeal to commonsense have always been discarded by them. Instead, they followed a version of this teaching that they themselves distorted, and which was contrary to Islam. Alas! when they were admonished not to befriend a certain type of people, they developed keen friendships with them but where they were advised to cultivate friendly relationships - in fact taught ways of approach to such desirable type of friendships - they neglected those opportunities. Therefore the ultimate analysis of their disease is that they have moved away from righteousness and the teaching of Islam. The Holy Prophet'"' said that a believer is never stung twice from the same hole but how many times have they been stung! They push their fingers in the same hole and get repeatedly stung. To this day, they have not learned any lesson from this. If you analyze the policies of the prudent West, you will observe that it too is ignorant and imprudent. Despite repeated setbacks, it has not been able to discover what the true disease is. As long as this disease persists, the dangers and threats will continue to hover over the world. On the other hand, the Muslim countries, despite repeated sufferings, have not learnt their lesson and continue to repeat the same mistakes. What is its remedy? THE REMEDY PRESCRIBED BY THE HOLY OURAN There is but one remedy which was taught to us by the Holy Prophet Muhammad. . . , about which I reminded you earlier, and wish to remind you once again. The Holy Prophet, referring to the latter days, prophesied (I will quote only an excerpt of this long prophecy): "gog and magog will rule the world and they will rise wave after wave and the whole world will be overwhelmed by the waves of 68
