The Gulf Crisis & The New World Order A SAMPLING OF PUBLIC OPINION: COMMENTS ON THE GULF CRISIS AND THE NEW WORLD ORDER OF PRESIDENT GEORGE BUSH The intellectuals of the world collaborate and support the views expressed by His Holiness, Hazrat Mirza Tahir Ahmad. His Holiness said: "The stand taken by The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community in the present world situation has found favour and many voices of approval are heard rising from many countries. Just two days ago, an Ahmadi from a Western country informed me that a well known and i nfluential commentator had expressed identical views on the present crisis as though he had read my sermons. He enquired if I, or some other Ahmadi was in communication with him. This was not an isolated letter. I have received similar letters from many places. Apparently it is a tribute to my sermons but I am not so naive as to accept this as personal praise. Praise is not due to me but to Islam. All praise belongs to God and to God's revealed religion and this is the proof of the truth and excellence of that teaching. However, that was a clear indication that people are beginning to recognise truth; this gave me satisfaction in the sense that my confidence was strengthened. That made me believe that whatever comments I h ave made on this situation are in accordance with the teachings of Allah. Otherwise such comments would not have found support both verbally and in writing in various countries. " (January 25, 1991) "Regardless of what the contemporary observers might say, to bamboozle the collaborating Muslim countries, the researchers and historians of tomorrow in the Western world, would say the same thing that I am saying today: that some Muslim countries joined hands with anti-Islamic powers, thus committing high treason against the Islamic interests, and tried to annihilate an up-and-coming Islamic country.
