The Gulf Crisis and New World Order — Page 3
The Gulf Crisis & The New World Order One wonders how His Holiness could stand for over an hour with just a few scraps of notes and deliver such marathon sermons on a topic which may never have been tackled to such depth by any Muslim scholar. These sermons portray his deep yearning for peace in the world. Many of his predictions and apprehensions are now unfolding. No doubt this book will remain as a guideline to the Muslims and the world in general for many decades. During the war, Muslim nations were shuffling to side with the victor even if it meant the slaughter of their brethren in faith. There were others who were standing as silent spectators while the genocide was in progress. None spoke out. But here was the spiritual successor of the Promised Messiah aa who spoke with such foresight, coupled with unmatched bravery and candour that the world was astonished. He criticized the West for their double standards and when the need arose never hesitated to lash at the East including the Muslims for forsaking the excellent teachings of the Holy Quran and for being repeatedly bitten from the same hole. One message which he constantly emphasized in all these sermons was that the Muslims should revert to prayers and supplications to God, since this was the weapon that would shield the world from the intrigues of the deceptionist. I thank my colleague Mr. Mubarak Ahmad Nazir who headed the team that translated these sermons into English. He must have spent countless hours on the translation and compilation of this work. He was most ably assisted by Mr. Saleem-ur-Rahman who devoted his valuable time in translations and review.
