Ha z rat ‘Ali ra was seated in his position when the man came running and boasted in the hopes of receiving a prize, “ O Am ī r - ul - Mu’min ī n [ leader of the Believers ] , I want to give you the glad tidings of the death your enemy. ” Ha z rat ‘Ali ra asked, “ Which enemy? ” The man replied, “ O leader of the faithful, I have killed Talh a ra. ” Ha z rat ‘Ali ra replied, ‘O man, I will give you glad tiding s from the Holy Prophet sa as well. You wil l be sent to hell because once ( when Talha ra and I were in the Holy Prophet ’s s a company) he said, ‘ Talha ra you will suffer disgrace for the sake of justice and truth, and a man will kill you, b ut God will put this man in hell. ’ ” In that battle, when the army of Ha z rat ‘Ali ra and that of Ha z rat Talha ra and Ha z rat Zubair ra lined up facing each other, Ha z rat Talha ra began giving ar gume nts in his [position’s] favor.
