Published in Al Fazl International 24 April 2015) Huzoor e Anwer (may Allah be his Helper) recited verse 20 of Surah Al Nisa in the same address and after giving its translation, expounded it and s aid : َ ًلَ یَحِل َُّ لَکُّم ۡ اَن ۡ تَرِثُّوا النَِس َٓاء مَنُّوۡا ہ ّلََِیۡن َ ا یٰۤاَیَُّہَا ا ا کَرۡہ ََ تَیۡتُّمُّوۡہُّن ہ َ ًلَ تَعۡضُّلُّوۡہُّن ََ لِتَذۡہَبُّوۡا بِبَعۡض ِ مَا ۤۡ ا ؕ و ا ۚ ِ ٍ ۚ و َ عَاشِرُّوۡہُّن ََ بِالۡمَعۡرُّوۡف ُِیَۡ بِفَاحِشَۃ ٍ مَُّبَیَِنَۃ ًِلََۤۡ اَن ۡ یََاۡت ا ۡ فَاِن ُّ ّللَہ ا و ََ یَجۡعَل َ ا ا کَرِہۡتُّمُّوۡہُّن ََ فَعَسٰۤی اَن ۡ تَکۡرَہُّوۡا شَیۡئ ِۡیۡا ا ﴿ َۡیۡا ا کَث فِیۡہ ِ خ ۲۰ ﴾ ‘ ‘O ye who believe! it is not lawful for you to inherit women against their will; nor should you detain them wrongfully that you may take away part of that which you have given them, except that they be guilty of a flagrant evil; and consort with them in kindness; and if you dislike them, it may be that you dislike a thing wherein Allah has placed much good. ’ (4:20) ‘Allah the Exalted commands you to tr eat women very well.
