35 from me who can even have a dream or a revelation? On the contrary, even a prostitute, whose entire life is spent in fornication, can sometimes have true dreams. Even a thief, whose only profession is to steal other people’s property, can also be informed of a future incident through a dream. My claim, which I have repeatedly put before people, is that none but those who have been specially selected by God’s grace, are granted dreams and revelations of such substance and quality as number in their thousands, and in respect of which no one else is able to compete with them. Receiving of true dreams and revelations by ordinary people once in a while is also for the good of mankind. If such a door were entirely shut to the rest of mankind, it would be very difficult for them to believe in the truthfulness of God’s Messengers. They would never be able to understand if these Prophets have truly been gifted with Divine Revelation, or if it is a fraud and only the result of some evil temptation.
