11 Hijri century. Why, without the advent of a Prophet, are you being afflicted with this calamity which takes away your friends and loved ones each year and brings sorrow to your hearts? There must be a reason, why do you not look for it? And why do you not reflect upon the verse which I have quoted above, in which God Almighty says: 11 That is, We never send an extraordinary punishment upon a people until We have sent a Messenger to fully convey Our message. Just consider this: Is it not an extraordinary calamity with which you have been afflicted for some years now? The afflictions which you witness today are such as your forefathers could never have imagined and are beyond anything this land has seen for thousands of years.
