As derived from ø ßø ^ aor mø » ßö ç » , it signifies "a simple revolution of the sun" i. e. a single revolution of the earth round the sun, because ø ßø ^ mø » ßö ç » said of a beast (turning a water-wheel) means "he turned round about the well". It is also said to be longer than the  ø ^ Ý º which is applied to the twelve Arabian months collectively; but ø ßø è º is also applied to twelve revolutions of the moon. Thus every ø ßø è º is an  ø ^ Ý º but not every  ø ^ Ý º is a ø ßø è º. ø ßø è º ø Û » ô n $ è º (solar year) is three hundred and sixty five days and a quarter of a day and ø ßø è º Î ø Û ø ô m $ è º (lunar year) is three 416 ß ß ^
