6 1 َو اَم َكىٰرَن َكَعَبَّتا اَّلِا َنْيِذَّلا ْمُه اَنُلِذاَرَا َيِداَب ِيْاَّرلا١ۚ (Paraphrasing) In our view, we find only low and insignifi- cant people as your followers. None of our educated, wealthy, and honorable people follow you. What superiority, if any, do you have over us? How can we take his followers and him, who is a leader of the poor, the weak, the low, and the dis- tressed as better or elevated than us? 2 َو اَم ىٰرَن ْمُكَل اَنْيَلَع ْنِم ٍۭلْضَف ْلَب ْمُكُّنُظَن َنْيِبِذٰك۰۰ Under the circumstances, we are compelled to conclude that you are a liar. Were you a truthful person, people with honor and dignity, influential leaders, and great nations on Earth would have followed you. N uh ’s as response to this objection is recorded verbatim in the Holy Quran: َلاَق ِمْوَقٰي ْمُتْيَءَرَا ْنِا ُتْنُك ىٰلَع ٍةَنِّيَب ْنِّم ْيِّبَّر َو ْيِنىٰتٰا ًةَمْحَر ْنِّم ٖهِدْنِع ْتَيِّمُعَف 3 ْمُكْيَلَع١ؕ اَهْوُمُكُمِزْلُنَا َو ْمُتْنَا اَهَل َنْوُهِرٰك۰۰ O my people, do you not realize that God has sent me with cogent arguments and bright signs, and He has bestowed 1.
