The Commentary of Al-Qasidah — Page 85
The commentary of al-Qa si dah 85 From this couplet through 39 is the mention of this great revolution that took place amongst the nation of Arabia by the efforts of the Holy Prophet sa. COUPLET 21 You found them dirty like a heap of dung; And transformed them into a piece of pure gold. In this couplet the condition of the Arabian people before the advent of Islam has been compared to dung, meaning, they were shameless. They had no value amongst the nations of the world but, O my master, your nearness, your friendship and by following you they became the likes of gold medallions. They achieved such position and status among the nations of the world that it is futile to find a comparable example in history, either before or after.
