The sound of music and singing reverberated in the whole environment. Ordinarily it would be difficult to sleep in that house. Once a friend asked him,“Does this noise not disturb you?” He replied that he had got used to it so much that without that noise he could not fall asleep. The wife was obviously worried about him being alone in a foreign land in this old age while the family was in Pakistan. She wrote to him enquiring: ‘who are the people around you and who cooks for him?’ He wrote back: ‘I have a servant. He wakes me up early in the morning. After prayers, he prepares breakfast for me, then he opens the clinic. When I come back tired he makes tea for me, then the lunch. Likewise he cleans the house. Then he cooks dinner and presents it to me. He looks after me really well. You need not worry at all. The name of that servant is Zia-ul-Hassan’.
