If, on account of this relationship, they sometimes refer to them- selves as the “sons of God”, or claim that God speaks through them or manifests Himself in them, then these claims are true in a sense and from a perspective which must be explained. The use of such terms—for those who lose themselves in God and then emerge in a new form after being nurtured by the light of God—is a time honoured tradition among those bestowed with Divine knowledge.
