80 Politics Involves Grouping and Lobbying Politics involves grouping and lobbying. If a group of people stand together and ask the government to fulfil their demands and put forth their agenda in clear terms, only then are their demands heard. However, in every matter, the government considers which point of view is being supported by the majority of the people. Therefore, if the people make demands today, the government will only listen and fulfil the demands of those who can prove that they are in majority. But as for you, consider your circumstances. What strength do you have, compared to others, to force the government to give you your rights? At present, our condition is such that when some enemy mistreats us, or causes some suffering or pain to us, it is the police that come to our rescue. Remember that politics brings success only to those who enjoy a considerable majority. Should the number of students who go on strike in a school be less than those who do not follow suit, the strike will never be successful; for in that situation those who went on strike will be expelled by the administration. But there can be some hope of success if the majority of the students go on strike and then remain steadfast. Otherwise, they will meet a terrible failure. But I ask which group or party do you think is with you to help you with your cause?
