You should not get involved in activities which force you to compromise your fundamental beliefs. ’ Whatever I have said is solely from the standpoint of the needs of the Ahmadiyya Jam a ‘at and from its religious perspective. As for what course of action others should adopt, or under what rules and principles one should take part in politics—provided it is not harmful to get involved in it—that is a separate debate. At this time, it is not necessary to speak on this subject. For the time being, it is sufficient to say that the present needs of Islam require our Jam a ‘at to stay away from politics. Our Jam a ‘at should not involve itself in politics even to the extent readily allowed by the government. On the contrary, our members should spend all their time to accomplish the task which God has assigned to them. They must not let their attention be diverted, nor should they risk spoiling their character by indulging in politics. Marriage between Ahmad i s and non-Ahmad i s and Issue of Kufw 4 The third important issue that I wish to discuss today is the question of Ahmad i s marrying non-Ahmad i s. This issue also brings into question parity between marital partners.
