JAMES 2. 13 SALVATION NOT THROUGH FAITH ALONE: What doeth it profit my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have no works? Can faith save him? If faith hath not work, is dead, being alone. Thou believeth that there is one God; thou doest well: the devil also believe, and tremble. But wilt thou know, 0 vain man, that faith without works is dead? Was not our father Abraham justified by works. Seest thou how faith wrought with works, and by works was faith made perfect? Ye see how that by works is man justified, and not by faith alone. For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also. JAMES 2. 14/26 MERCY NOT SACRIFICE: For I desired mercy, and not sacrifice; and the knowledge of God more than burnt offering.
