10 A NATIon’s ADMIRATIon ‘A bdul-Mu tt alib had grown old but never before had he seen such a handsome child. He seemed like a little angel! Carrying him in his arms, ‘Abdul-Mu tt alib went to the Ka‘bah to pray for his life and prosperity. Some respectable people of the Quraish were present in the Ka‘bah at the time. They were struck with amazement at seeing the beautiful child! They congratulated their Chief and asked, “What name have you given your grandson?” ‘Abdul-Mu tt alib said, “I have named him Muhammad sa. ” The idolaters looked at each other in bewilderment at such an unusual and unique name. It was a completely new name for them.
