•oUR BELoVED MASTER• 131 this problem, and so unwillingly and with anger he took the milk, butter and cheese and placed them in front of the idols while his mouth was still watering. Not long after that a dog showed up. He drank the milk and ate the cheese and butter, after which he urinated upon the idols! Once an interesting incident took place with one of the idols. The idol was called H ais and was made solely from dates. Whenever there was any gathering in the town, people would bring dates and pile them up. Over time, a huge pile of dates was created and every day the idol became both taller and wider. In fact H ais was becoming fatter and fatter every day. However something occurred that ended up ruining the life of poor H ais. It so happened that in Arabia a great shortage of food and drink occurred. So much so, that there was nothing left for the people to eat or drink. People sincerely prayed to their idols asking for rain. But it neither rained nor did the famine come to an end. Out of starvation, the people became desperate for their lives. As was the tradition, the elders of the tribe got together to try and find a solution to their problem. They finally came up with a plan that involved the end of H ais. They decided that in order to get rid of
