303 Explanation Bin = Arabic word for „son of“ Hijri =(abbreviation AH) the Islamic era is known as that of the hijra since its starting point is the year in whi1 Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him migrated from Mecca to Medina (AD 622), an event known in Muslim tradition as the hijra. This calendar is based on the Moon rather than the Sun, a year consisting of 12 months, ea1 counted as the time between the appearance of one new moon and that of the next. The year thus lasts for about 354 days, approximately 11 days less than the solar year used in the common calendar. Muhaddis = Collector of the A’Hadith of Holy Prophet Mohammed (p. b. u. h) Hadith = in Islam, the record of the precepts, actions, and life of the Prophet Mohammed, (pbuh) whi1 constitutes his Sunna, or example. Sunna = ( plural form is sunnan) Islamic custom or the Way of life of Prophet Mohammed (p. b. u. h). Mushtahid = a jurist entitled to independent notes referring the Islamic law. Shawal = the Islamic month after Ramadan. Imaam = Islamic Title “The one who leads the prayer”. It may also signify the head of a community or group. Hafiz = a person who memories the Holy Quran. Sufi = an Islamic mystic Saha-sitta = the seven most authentic collections of Hadith. Ijtehaad = independent clarification of Islamic law based on all four sources i. e. Quran, Sunnah, Hadith & Ijmah. Rajjab = Islamic month
