Our digestive system is one of the special bless- ing of God Almighty. It causes the useful part of our food to become part of our body and the waste matter to be discharged. After the completion of this process, we must express our gratitude to God Almighty by praising Him. 4. On Starting a Meal BismiLlaahi wa `alaa baraka- tiLlah-i In the name of Allah and with the blessings of Allah (I start eating) This prayer stresses two important points. Firstly, there is no one but God, Who is the “Provider” of bounties such as food. Secondly, there is no one but God, Who is the real source of blessings, Who can bestow on us with more and more food producing a healthy effect on both our soul and our health.
