B AR Ā H Ī N-E-A H M ADIY YA — PART F IV E 400 to me through revelation that as ‘ I s a did not acquire his spirit through his father, in the same way I, too, did not acquire the spirit of learning and knowledge through a spiritual father; that is, a teacher. Thus, in all these things, I have a marked resemblance with Hadrat ‘ I s a. And this is why God Almighty established the Ishmaelite dis- pensation similar to the Israelite dispensation and chose me to be its ‘ I s a. At the beginning of this dispensation was Our Lord and Master, Muhammad, may peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, who was given the title of M u s a and both of whose parents were from among the Quraish. And at the end of this dispensation is my own humble self, who is only descended from the Quraish on the maternal side and is given the title ‘ I s a. And at the end of this dispensation is my own humble self, who is descended from the Quraish only on my maternal side and is given the name ‘ I s a. ی ٰ دشی ع�یس دم ہک وچں � ی رمدم ِ ان الہ وگ � وقمِ وسحد اے ہک ا�ی وجابِ اشں نم از ونشب Unworthy people ask me how I became ‘ I s a ; Here is my reply: O jealous people! ہ ود ادنر اتکب ِ اپک انم ی وچں امشرا دش � ہ ود ی ٰ رما رکد اتس از رہب ِ �ی ع�یس سپ دخا Since the Holy Quran named you ‘Jews’, Hence for these ‘Jews’ He named me ‘ I s a. د �ی� ق � � ی � � � اں ش ی مخت ِ ا� ق ق ی ق ورہن از روےئ ح م ادنر وُوجد ق �یس� � � ی ز مہ نم انب رم� � ی � � Otherwise, you are not from the bloodline of the Jews, Nor am I physically the same Ibn Maryam [the Son of Mary].
