Chapter Two In explanation of the Signs that were fulfilled by virtue of the prophecies published in Barahin-e-Ahmadiyya twenty-five years before this time Let it be known that Barahin-e-Ahmadiyya is the book from my com- positions which was published in 1880 CE; that is, 1297 AH. At the time of its publication, as is apparent from the contents of the book itself, I lived in such a state of obscurity that there were very few people who were even aware of my existence. I was at that time a solitary figure and no one was acquainted with me. I lived a life of solitude and was quite happy and contented, when out of the favour of the Eternal Divine, I had this sudden experience: One day, towards evening, in this very house and at the exact spot where I am now standing while writing these lines, I was overcome by a slight slumber and received this revela- tion from Almighty God: یَا اَحْمَد ُ بَارَك َ الل ُّٰ فِیْكَ. مَا رَمَیْت َ اِذ ْ رَمَیْت َ وَلٰكِن َّ الل َّٰ رَمٰی. اَلرَّحْمٰن ُ عَلَّم َ الْقُرْاٰن َ لِتُنْذِر َ قَوْمًا 1 ٭ مَّا اُنْذِر َ اٰبَاءھُم ْ وَلِتَسْتَبِیْن َ سَبِیْل َ الْمُجْرِمِیْنَ. قُل ْ اِنِّی ْٓ اُمِرْت ُ وَاَنَا اَوَّل ُ الْمُؤمِنِیْنَ. Meaning that, O Ahmad! God has blessed you.
