SuB-Footnote Number Three 327 created everything according to a measure and has fixed its outer lim- its, which proves the existence of the Restrainer and Limiter [ S u rah al-Furq a n, 25:3]. He is proven worthy of all praise and is the only true Benefactor in this world and the Hereafter. All command belongs to Him and everything originates from Him and returns to Him [ S u rah al-Qa s a s , 28:71]. God will forgive every sin for whomsoever He wills, but He will never forgive that a partner be associated with Him [ S u rah an-Nis a ’, 4:49]. Therefore, it is incumbent upon every one who is desirous of meeting his Lord to adopt a course of action that has no disorder of any kind and to associate no one in the worship of God [ S u rah al-Kahf, 18:111]. Therefore, do not associate anything with God. It is a grievous wrong to associate anyone with God [ S u rah Luqm a n, 31:14]. Do not ask any favours from anyone except God. Everything will per- ish and only His Being will remain. His is the command and to Him is your return [ S u rah al-Qa s a s , 28:89]. Your God has ordained that you should worship Him alone and keep doing good to your parents [ S u rah Ban i Isr a ’ i l, 17:24]. But if they misguide you to make you set up equals with Me, then do not obey them [ S u rah Luqm a n, 31:16]. If you suffer an affliction, then, except God, there is no friend of yours who can remove it; and if any good should come to you, then God alone has the power to bestow every good upon you, and no one else does. He alone has complete authority and power over all people, and
