BarĀhĪn-e-a H madiyya — Part Four 214 mentioned at several places in the Holy Quran while explaining the attribute of ra hi miyyat, as He has said in one place: 1. This means that God’s ra hi miyyat is confined only to the believers and that the infidels, meaning, the disbelievers and the rebellious ones, have no share in it. It should be noted here how God has restricted the attribute of ra hi miyyat to the believers, but He has not restricted ra h m a niyyat to the believers in any place, and has nowhere stated ان بالمؤمنین رحمٰنًا ك meaning that, He is رحمٰن [ Ra h m a n ] for the believers. Rather, the attribute of mercy that is especially reserved for the believers has been mentioned with the attribute of ra hi miyyat every time. At another place He has said: 2. Meaning that, the ra hi miyyat of Allah is close to only those who do good. Then, at another place, He has stated: 3. Meaning that, those who believed and sacrificed their homes or per- sonal desires for the sake of Allah, and strove in the cause of Allah, are hopeful of Allah’s ra hi miyyat and Allah is Most Forgiving, Merciful. Meaning that, His grace of ra hi miyyat is certainly bestowed upon those who deserve it. There is no one who sought it and did not find it. 1. S u rah al-A h z a b, 33:44 [Publisher] 2.
