A pproaching the West—2 1 … Say: ‘To All ā h belong the East and the West. He guides whom He pleases to the right path. ’ (The Holy Qur’ ā n, 2:143) For as the lightening comes out of the east, and shines even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. (The Bible, Matthew, 24:27) Ḥ a ḍ rat Mirz ā Ghul ā m A ḥ mad (peace be on him), the founder of the A ḥ madiyya Movement in Isl ā m, was born in the East. His birthplace, Q ā di ā n, is a remote village in India, where he was born in 1835. Under Divine inspiration, he initiated the A ḥ madiyya Muslim Jam ā ‘at in 1889. His mission to spread Isl ā m was of universal magnitude. He repeatedly received God’s reassuring revelations that his message shall reach all the people of the world: I shall carry thy message to the ends of the earth.
