CHAPTER EIGHT We shall now proceed to set out, in the words of Ahmad himself, his own concept of his status, his claims and the purpose of his Movement. He has said: God Almighty has, through the blessings of my obedience to and love for the Holy Prophet, peace be on him, and through my following His Holy Word, honoured this humble one with His revelation and with inner knowledge. He has enlightened me with the disclosure of many mysteries, and has filled my bosom with many verities and realities. He has informed me many times that all these gifts, bounties, exaltations, favours, kindnesses, attention, awards, supports and revelations have been bestowed upon me by virtue of the blessings of obedience to and love for the Seal of the Prophets, peace be on him. As is set out in line eighteen of page five hundred and four of the Braheen Ahmadiyya, I have been described in my revelation as one sent. by Allah in the mantles of the prophets. Thus, I receive certain and absolute revelation. I call God in Whose hand is my life as witness, that I have been informed by convincing and conclusive reasons, which are continuously repeated, that whatever is conveyed to me and is vouchsafed to me as revelation is from God and not from Satan. I believe in it as I believe in the existence of the sun and the moon, or 131
