When I overpowered him, he uttered * 'Y [‘There is no one worthy of worship except Allah’]. In spite of that, I killed him with a spear. However, this left me with some trepidation in my mind. I narrated this to the Holy Prophet saw. The Holy Prophet saw said, ‘You still killed him, even though he had affirmed 'Y * ’? I clarified, ‘O, Prophet of Allah! He had said that because he was afraid of the weapon’. The Holy Prophet saw exclaimed: ‘Why did you not cut his heart open to make sure if he had said it from the core of his heart?’ Hadrat Us a mah ra narrates that the Holy Prophet Muhammad saw repeated this with such anguish and sorrow so many times that Hadrat Us a mah ra wished he had embraced Islam only after that day. ( S a hih Muslim, Kit a bul- I m a n, Hadith no. 277) I (A. S. Musa), as an Ahmadi born in an Ahmadi household, who has reached adulthood, swear in the name of Almighty God, Knower of the unseen, and declare that when I recite the Kalimah, I say that there is no God but Allah and Muhammad is His prophet and no one else. The name of Mirza Ghulam Ahmad Qadian i does not enter my mind, heart, or tongue.
