The Three Creative Principles Defined 25 Allah, so that its ultimate direction towards its destination is clearly defined and set. Unworded lessons drawn from the long journey of evolution are all that guide the steps of life as it enters the phase of man. From then on, other factors such as environment, family and racial influences attempt to deviate the course of man from its middle path. Then a conscious effort on his part to resist these influences is termed as Ta‘d i l in the Holy Quran. Although man has reached a stage where he can consciously make free choices to adhere to, or to deviate from the middle path, yet within a system, Taqw i m continues to work unruffled and without his conscious knowledge of what is happening to him. Fortunately for him, he cannot interfere with the course of Taqw i m working internally. He can only superficially interfere with it when, accidentally or consciously, he fails to do justice to his health. This neglect or accident damages a minute portion of one of his internal organs thereby upsetting the whole ecosystem of kinds of balance and counterbalance. Thus, just a tiny disease can influence the entire body and make it unhealthy in its totality. All the natural laws operating within him which are taking care of his health and physical behaviour, are a result of an extremely long course of Taqw i m during his evolution.
