— Part III 334 Messenger will be on his side. 49 It is evident from this treaty that it was not a legislation of a government, the clauses of the treaty are in accord with the social requirements of every society, Hence the spirit of this agreement provides the Jews with equal rights with Muslims. According to this treaty every participant, whether he lives in Medina or leaves Medina to dwell elsewhere, will enjoy the right of living in peace. The participants of the treaty will have no right to interfere in their affairs. This treaty is a moral charter which can settle the differences of all disputing nations in the future, justly and amicably. According to this treaty, the powerful nations can enjoy no exceptional right to force their will upon the weaker nations. However, all signatory nations which are members of the United Nations Charter can use their united might against a belligerent nation which does not abstain from perpetrating aggression against another. During such an eventuality, they should exert a united pressure on both the disputant parties to immediately stop acts of hostility. Then they can settle their issues in accordance with a mutually agreed authority of arbitration. Although the charter of Medina gives the predominant right of arbitration to the Holy Prophet sa during disputes between Muslims and non-Muslims, he never used this clause to impose his religion upon
